Basic SpectraLink WiFi phone functions

To power on the phone, press and hold the green key. 

To power off the phone, press the red key.

To make a call, dial the number and press the green key.

To answer a call, press the green key.

1.      How to pick up an ACPL extension that is ringing (Direct Call Pickup)

(branches only at this time)

Green button à left side of top left button (“Pick” should appear on the LCD above the left side of the button; this indicates that you should press the left side of the button).

2.      How to pick up a call on hold from another extension (Remote Hold Pickup)

Green button à *9 + extension (Main Library and branches) 

3.      How to place a call on hold ***see note***

a.      Press the right side of the top right button (“Hold” should appear on the LCD above the right side of the button; this indicates that you should press the right side of the button).

b.      The call is now on hold.

*** It is always preferable to transfer a call to the wifi extension rather than placing the call on hold, if possible.  Transferring the call to the wifi extension clears the line and allows patrons to be able to call your agency.

4.      How to retrieve a call that you have placed on hold

a.      Press the LINE button at the bottom right on the front of the phone.

b.      Press the number that appears, on the LCD, to the left of the phone number displayed.

c.      You have now retrieved the call that was on hold.

5.      How to Transfer a Call

1. Pick up call

    

2. Press FCN and 1 (Trans/Conf)

    

3. Enter the extension number and press the green key

    

4. Once the third party answers, announce the caller

    

5. The call will be transferred when you hang up by pressing the red key

    

6.      How to Access Voice Mail

a.      Dial 1200 and press the green key

b.      Enter #

c.      Enter your mailbox (extension) number

d.      Enter your password

7.   How to Transfer a Call directly to a Mailbox

1. Press FCN and 1 (Trans/Conf) key

    

2. Dial 1200 and press the green key

    

3. When the system answers, press #

    

4. When prompted enter the mailbox number

    

5. When prompted for password, press #

    

6. Hang up immediately

    

8.   How to Initiate a Conference Call

1. Pick up Call

    

2. Press FCN and 1 (Trans/Conf) (Caller is placed on hold while you connect to third party.)

    

3. Enter the extension number and press the green key

    

4. When the third party answers press FCN and 1(3 Party Conf)

    

5. Now all three callers are in conference

    

9.  How to use the Phone Book

a.      Press the Menu button. 

b.      Press the left side of the top left button (“Phbk” should appear on the LCD above the left side of the left button; this indicates that you should press the left side of the button). 

c.      You should see “Enter Name”

d.      Use the phone keys to enter the letters for the person or agency.  (Press a key until the correct letter shows up; e.g. pressing the “7” key four times displays the letter “S”.)

e.      Press the right side of the top left-hand button (“Lkup” should appear on the LCD above the right side of the left button; this indicates that you should press the right side of the button).

f.        You should see the following options associated with each side of the two buttons below the display: 

1)     Call

2)     Next (browse to the next listing)

3)     Rtry (go back to enter another name)

4)     Supr (Super Key functions)

7. Press the number indicating which function you want to perform,

    

e.g., press 1 to call.
